Maps, exit doors, and hiding

Sixteen named maps, a four-minute door rule, and the few maps that have a documented size or event role.

Every round is one map. The survivor job does not change: last four minutes, then take a glowing door. The map changes how hard that is.

What is documented about specific maps

The original three are Happy Neighborhood, Water Treatment Facility, and Willow Marsh. Older versions are noted for Water Treatment Facility, Willow Marsh, Papa Roni's Pizzeria, and Fair Grounds. Layout differences for those old versions were not copied here.

Papa Roni's Pizzeria is described as a smaller, more balanced map and a better first killer map. Darkwood Asylum and Haunted Mansion are described as larger, with more hiding spots, and harder for a new killer to navigate.

Happy Neighborhood is also the vote name in The Hollow item videos. Some writeups call that suburban block Friendly Neighborhood. Instrument spawns were event content. Do not expect the guitar, keys, and drumsticks in a normal round after the hub closes.

Scary Gary's Academy is dated July 4, 2021 on the maps page. That page also calls it the most recent map and then describes later map changes, so the "most recent" sentence is out of date.

??? (Downtown) is said to have left in February 2023 and returned in an August after the Western update. The same sentence says that update released Deadman's Point after two years. The August year is not written clearly enough to repeat as a calendar date.

Space Lab used to matter for a retired XP route: a power cell from that map into the lobby tractor beam paid 500 XP. That is historical. It is not a current objective.

The rest of the named list

The maps page says 18 maps are playable. The names on that page are Papa Roni's Pizzeria, Happy Neighborhood, Night School, Fair Grounds, Willow Marsh, Water Treatment Facility, Darkwood Asylum, Space Lab, Haunted Mansion, Skate Zone, Scary Gary's Academy, ??? (Downtown), Deadman's Point, Mines, Junkyard, and Subway. That is 16 names. The two unnamed maps are not guessed here.

Night School, Fair Grounds, Skate Zone, Mines, Junkyard, and Subway are on the list without a route guide in the notes used here. Mines is also mentioned as a place where at least one crafting recipe can be found. Subway is only a name here. No train timer was confirmed.

How to learn a map without a custom route

  1. On the first life, find both metal exit doors before you hide.
  2. Note one crawlspace between those doors.
  3. Use lockers only when the killer did not watch you enter.
  4. At about 1:20, be near a door. If it is guarded when the exits open, take the other one.

Closed doors look out of place. Open doors glow, show a green icon, and are pointed at by a yellow arrow.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Survive the Killer!?

It is a free Roblox horror game by Slyce Entertainment. One player is the killer. Everyone else hides, revives teammates, and tries to escape when the doors open.

How many players are in a match?

The Roblox listing caps a server at 13 players. Killer coin notes describe a full lobby as one killer and 12 survivors.

How do survivors escape?

Stay alive for four minutes. Two exit doors then open, marked with a green icon and a yellow arrow. Walk through the glowing door. After the doors open, a hit kills instantly and the killer can see survivor positions.

Are any codes working?

The game code archive lists no current code. Cody, the redeem NPC, is documented to appear only while a code can be redeemed. Older rewards remain in the expired archive. Some later roundups still reprint luckyduck, vote1m, and MINING as working; this site files those three as expired with the archive and did not redeem them in-game.

How do you crawl?

Press Shift on computer, the down arrow on mobile, or LT on Xbox. Survivors use crawlspaces to break line of sight. The killer can crawl too, more slowly.
